My Story |Marilyn Monroe

dsc_0363

just like the other books that I have reviewed, I don’t know what to say about this book. Speechless if I may to describe it but its the truth. I have come to meet the true beauty of her personality. what this book had offered me was the actual Norma Jean and not Marilyn Monroe. I have met her, I have been with her, I feel like I was floating back to her time when everybody doesn’t want her and I was there the whole time, listening to her. how can somebody neglect a person as precious as her??  she may be a sex symbol but she never easily gave in herself to the boys whose after her. some would just look at her and ask her to marry them, but instead of blushing, she made her thinking abilities work. she’s the top people I look up to, she inspires me. what the magazines exposed is nothing compared to what Marilyn Monroe have actually written. it’s a glimpse of her life on the way to the top. and I can’t help to say that I was there because that’s how it feels like.

the only thing that I never liked about this Book is that the last written sentence which is, “this is where the manuscript ended when Marilyn handed it to me” -Greene

BookHaul!! Love stories and Marilyn Monroe????

dsc_0354

You know that situation when you just tell yourself that you need to see something Online and ended up Buying Bunch, that’s what happened to me last week. Sometimes, when I order online and I do it at night and I forgot what I bought the next morning until you received an email of your order confirmation that’s what you call “sleep buying” <lol>. So anyways, since I am proud to say that I don’t sleep walk but I do sleep buying, I will show to you what’s on my parcel in short, what I Bought!

1.) The Notebook

dsc_0364

Legend! I have watched the movie of this million times and I am not sick nor tired of it. And yes, I haven’t read the book ever since. just before I bought this, I saw some video clips on youtube about the deleted scenes of the movie and it made me feel unsatisfied of what I’ve been watching for years! I totally understand that they couldn’t put everything in the movie, but what if there’s something in the book that is more different than the movie, like what if the essence that I see in the movie is actually different in the book. I don’t know, im weird. Hahaha

2.) Looking for Alaska

dsc_0365

This one I’ve read already few years back. But I read it on my ebook so this time I want an actual book, how it feels and how it smells (if you’re a bookworm you’d understand my feeling). I probably even did a book review of this way back in 2013, I am not so sure. But anyways, I am so excited to read this one again.

3.) The Last Song

dsc_0361

Okay, tell me I am not being such a Nicholas Sparks Sick. But his books are too good not to read, even the movies are blockbusters, so why not buy two of his greatest works, right? It is definitely one of the movies that made me cry. I remember sitting on my dormitory bed and just sob the whole time. Yes, it’s good and bad memories. Haha

4.) Marilyn Monroe

I have never really shown so much respect and admiration to any Local or Hollywood stars before until I read Marilyn Monroe’s struggle to become the most anticipated stars of the lifetime. I have been buying dozens of magazines about her, read them and process them in my mind, there are different stories, different versions, and when I finally decided to buy a book of her life story, I have, again, Checklist in my mind of what to consider in choosing the right book about her. These two over here just caught my eye as soon as I scroll down, I have been reading good book reviews about it, and that’s one of my considerations. I am actually reading the “My Story…” and so far I am in Awe, it just never fails.

All the books that was used in this Blog was bought through my own will and from my own pocket. There is no Sponsors or whatsoever happening, I hope there is though <lol>

Dishes to try in BC |Food Explorer

IMG_5287.JPG

if you wanted to exp0lore the old age side of Canada, I would suggest to go to Victoria, British Columbia. it is one of the greatest Cities I’ve ever been to in the country and I can’t get over it. we went there for a week, we went to a lot of places, there are some activities that we did that are fun and exciting, it is the city full of tourists from all over the world, it is seriously the classic old age side of the country.

When I was there, I came up to this idea of trying out different cuisines because when you’re in the city you have to try different things. this is what I am going to share for todays Blog Article, I thought of sharing it to you guys just in case I convince any of you to come visit Canada, haha.

IMG_5220.JPGYassa Au Poulet in Le Petit Dakar (African Cuisine)

this Cuisine is as yummy as it looks like in the picture. I don’t know how to describe the way it tastes, it’s just that its perfect, not too salty not too sweet its just in the middle kind of dish. it’s a chicken breast marinated in a special African herbs and cooked with onions and pepper. African cuisine are mostly Lamb and Chicken which is pretty much the same thing with Filipino Cuisine, but then I don’t eat lamb at all, so I would go with Chicken.

IMG_5259.JPGMeatball Keftethes in Millo’s (Greek Cuisine)

Its a Greek Meatballs Recipe with Tomato sauce I believe. if you search Keftethes in Google, it definitely doesn’t look like this, so I would say it’s probably the Owners Thing to put tomato Sauce and Cheese on top of it to Spice up the looks of the dish. when you eat it, it seriously feels like giant meatballs, I couldn’t even eat all of these! but a person like me who is a real fan of meatballs, I would give a total thumbs up to this.

IMG_5304.JPG

Com Ga, Cha Gio (Vietnamese Cuisine)

you can’t go wrong with grilled chicken and Spring rolls when you go to a Vietnamese restaurant. maybe this is one of the Asian cuisines I haven’t tried but I’ve been longing to. but to be honest, one thing that I didn’t really like Is the way they wrapped the spring rolls, once you eat it, it just spreads all over, they didn’t wrap It tight, it ends up really messy. but the chicken, ugh, I don’t think grilled chicken is a bad option at all!

IMG_5314.JPG

Ravioli with fresh basil at Pagliacci (Italian Cuisine)

like seriously, Italian?? Italian will disappoint you?? uhm, NOPE! I am such a great fan of Pastas of any kind, like no kidding, it is one of the greatest thing ever! so when I found out about this Italian restaurant one of my friends recommended, i knew, i wouldn’t regret it. from the presentation down to the taste, it feels like you are in ITALIA! i need somebody to take me to Italy, Please.

So i love eating. yeap, obviously i really do. i have been trying to avoid as much carbs as i could while on this trip, but i can’t do it, when you are going into a vacation, you don’t think of diet. haha. well atleast i don’t. i had fun during my trip, i honestly couldn’t stop thinking of going back there real soon.

xoxo.

Camping Survival with the Filipinos

Filipinos are most definitely one of the happiest people existed in this world. we don’t sweat over small things. no matter how hard it is, we can still do things with a smile. lots of foreign people loves to go to the Philippines to explore, some Loves Filipino Foods, some Loves the Tradition, and some, just loves going back and forth in the country. there are Lots of Us around the World, seriously talking, wherever you go, there will always be Filipinos, even in the most remote town, you can find some. But have you ever been camping with a tribe of Filipinos?? Nope? i’ll take you.

Untitled.png

FOODS AND PICTURE TAKINGS…

if you love Filipino foods, I would recommend to you to go camping with the tribe. when we go camping for 3 days, we make sure that we bring food good for 7 days and if we go camping all together, we share each others food. like if you have dried meat, or uncooked chicken, or meat or pork, all you gotta do is say “hey, I have some uncooked but marinated meat at the back of my truck, I wonder what to do with it.?” believe me, 100%, Filipinos will always find a way to cook it even in the middle of the forest well that’s because we bring our own Pot and Pan, so you wont get hungry when you’re with us. and ofcourse! once to food are cooked, and everybody have put on the long table all the food they have cooked that we are going to share, we can’t miss a photo of it, so it’ll take another 30 minutes before everything gets done and then we can eat. it is fun, until you’re stomach is growling because it always has to have atleast 100 snaps of photos before you can start munching.

GAMES…

during our past time while on camping, we really don’t do anything but sleep and just talk outside or by the lake. but in our tribe, we play volleyball and basketball and many other more. we believe that camping is the right time to finally interact each other not through cellphone or any messengers, but personal interacting this time. so to spend a lot of time having fun, playing games just like the old days is a good idea.

UP ALL NIGHT WITH MUSIC…

who sleeps during camping?? NOBODY. maybe when you’re a little bit older, but to some others, if you have a cold beer and a guitar, that’s enough stuff to keep you awake throughout the entire time and it is also fun!! like seriously, who doesn’t like music at night with beer?? its just that this time, its Live and without auto tune. much better.

LOUD AND FUN…

YEAP. if we decided to stay up all night, with music and cold beer, in the front of a hot campfire, do you expect us to be quiet?? ‘course not!!! who does that??! Filipinos never shut up, especially when everybody’s having a good time, and that’s a fact. we just love talking and laughing so much, even during midnight until sunrise. Other Filipino Campers that are already sleeping usually doesn’t mind, they understand, we came there to have fun, not to just sleep and eat and sleep and eat. being loud is not a sin, being aggressive is.

MEMORIES…

by the end of the day, by the end of everything, everybody may go, everything may disappear, but there will always be one thing that will stay, and that is memories. I’ve been loving to go camping with my Filipino Fambam (which consists of 100 probably.) because it just never fails to make me happy, all the time, there will always be something funny. some Filipinos in my town doesn’t really like going camping, but they still go there for a visit, which is still fun cos then they bring supper for us, so that’s extra foods. yum yum! Memories will stay forever as it is, nothing will change, people may, but not a single sheet of memory. that’s why I like sharing it to others, so that if one day, when im Old, and won’t be able to remember any of this, atleast I can have someone to tell me that “hey, you were once a pain in the butt butt when you were young…” a good laugh indeed!

KEEP SMILING! xoxo

Russell Bookstore Haul!!!

Untitled.png

it has been few days now since I went to Victoria,BC for Holidays and still I am still living the image of its Nostalgic scenery, but as I was strolling around its streets I bumped into this very cool 2-storey bookstore and i am just fascinated of what to get. like, have you ever been to a bookstore and you just have a lot of choices that you get confuse which ones to get.?? that’s what exactly I feel EVERY SINGLE TIME. but now i will unveil the books that i got from this cool bookstore.

2016-19-7--16-22-36

so i only got few because it sucks when you are travelling  and still you don’t want to buy too much stuff.

*LOVELY BONES (ALICE SEBOLD) i have watched the movie (and i heard they are going to remake it. Not so Sure! but if this is true I’m excited!) and i loved it! the reason why i got it, is because i just wanted to know more about the story, and you know how sometimes they change or remove some scenes in the movies,  i hate that actually, but its fine!

*HOUSE OF SPIRITS AND WHISPERS (ANNIE WILDER) this one is True Story and yes, it is a Horror story about a Haunted House and a family bought it and not knowing about the dark side of it, pretty much like conjuring and i am definitely excited to talk about this in one of my book reviews soon!!

*I LOVE YOU BETH COOPER (LARRY DOYLE) I just finished reading this one and i don’t want to do book review about it right now not until i watched the movie and compare them both, because i believe that it has been so long since the last time i did Movie Vs. Book Review so, yeah, that’s one of my Plans being revealed for my Blog. haha.

*THE ELEMENT ENCYCLOPEDIA OF GHOSTS AND HAUNTINGS (THERESA CHEUNG) Encyclopedias are as awesome as novels but lets just admit it, sometimes it gets boring, so i really don’t read this as often as i do with my novels but we learn with encyclopedias especially if its the interesting one like the one i bought. yeap. hauntings are my thing lately. 😉

P.S.

I’m excited to do a book reviews sooner with this stuff. but aside from reviews, i can do so much more that i have already planned and all you guys just need to do is keep up and probably standby.

Conjuring 2 (hoax??)|Movie Review

this is probably one of the movie review that I’d be doing without any featured picture. it’s crazy how this movie just makes you feel knocked. I don’t want to put any picture mainly because it is too scary to stare at and I won’t be able to write anything If I do so, and also just because of the reason that it scares me is enough. and yes, that’s the impact of this movie to me.

First of all, I just wanted to say Congratulations to the Director who never fails to amaze his viewers, James Wan, damn, you are so talented and smart I didn’t even know how you do it. it has been 2 days now since I’ve watched the movie and still the chills are still there. the story itself is definitely different, If they didn’t tell you that it is based on true events, I wouldn’t even think that it happens in real life. truly there will always be different stories and different labels.

CONJURING 1 or 2??

In terms of the story, the way it was being told, and the way it was being acted, I would go with Conjuring 2. the kid played as Janet, she was different, she is something beyond talented. like how can you explain to her that her character is this, and its paranormal, and its true story and that’s how it supposed to be and she got it like it is the actual thing happened? she’s only a kid! but don’t get me wrong, I love Conjuring 1. my mom likes it better, and the story is unique, it has this twisted story and bringing you back in 1800’s and I like those kinds. Making your viewers think is the perfect kind.

if you haven’t watched this movie yet, it is a must. I don’t know how you were able to sleep at night thinking you haven’t watch it yet, then after you watched it you wonder what in the world were you thinking because now that you have watched it, you couldn’t sleep because you’re too scared. oh damn. its just that they are good and they are definitely a must-seen real stories.

Solo at 21

Untitled.png

21 is the age when people at their 40’s tell you that you are still too young and kids aged 10’s think you are old enough. We are in between, in the middle, sandwiched by age, and we usually don’t mind because that age is when we should go set our goals and be prepared for tomorrow. But nobody cares. they just whip their hairs back and forth as if what happens today doesn’t affect the Future.

21 is being legal to anywhere in this world, but we can’t afford to go for a trip. we can only afford a few drinks in a local pub and seeing the same faces from last night. Some people my age are having fun getting drunk and not thinking of what to have tomorrow, instead thinking about only today. I don’t. I am different. I think of today and tomorrow, I sometimes take a last peek of yesterday just to make sure that whatever bad I did wont happen again today or tomorrow or the day after that. I think extra something. I work harder than a usual 21-year-old, thinking that it would spare me from alcoholism and negative side of the generation. I was being invited into several house parties and beach parties but I’ve only chosen few to go to, i refused to come in most of them, simply because I never want to just drink and act like im having fun when im actually not.

People my Age doesn’t know how to have fun without drinking. can’t we just talk and laugh without getting sober? they don’t like guitar playing by the fire because loud wireless speakers are now on trend, they think its better that way, it’s terrible. if I’d say yes to the majority of the invitations, I would lose my mind. I am on old-groovy type of person, I don’t think trends today make any sense. I’d rather party with people 20 years older than me because they talk interesting stuff about life, not about their cat who dwelled with their neighbour’s massive dog one sunny afternoon, who cares?

at 21, some ladies are already being in love, and being crazy, hearts wounded, eyes drowned with tears and feelings of glee, some of them are torn and some of them are loved, but usually with the wrong ones. some have babies already, they don’t know what they got themselves into. some are searching for love, online, and how will you know they’re the right one? through the lies they wrote in their profile which you believed in this world full of hoaxs and fake accounts. why can’t we be classic? why can’t we do the things from the 50’s? this generation is too fucked up that reading a book in public feels like a shame, but reading it from your iPad is totally a better thing.

i don’t understand why. i couldn’t even explain it. where is the future leading us to? it is too scary to grow in this generation. is that why most of them just chose to be 21 and act like 15?  it is a blurry situation, vaguely and out of control. if you are turning 21, do whatever you want, be free. But just like the Greek Mythology said, “Be Wise, Not Bold…”
